DRIVERS OF THE GREEN TREEE CONCEPT

GREEN TREEE grows out of three fundamental shifts:

climate change,

world population explosion and

deforestation

20% of the worlds forest have been lost the last 20 years. Excessive CO2 is the threatening our existence.

3 billion trees need to be planted only in Europe to recreate the equilibrium within 2030. There is an urgent global need for commercial reforestation programs to replace the rapidly diminishing supply of rainforest timbers, which supply more than 75% of the world’s trade in hardwood logs. The deforestation of the rainforests must stop and as much of these areas as possible must be helped to return to their original state. This is however a very long process that will take hundreds if not thousands of years.

Therefore, we must also plant trees on other land areas, such as unused agricultural land, unproductive forests, land that is neither used for agriculture, recreation, as nature parks, important habitat for animals or urban developments.

If we don’t take climate change and rising population seriously and immediately act, we risk being in big trouble very soon.
